Your role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you develop central systems that map real-world processes in the energy market – from billing to market communication.

You will take responsibility for complex technical areas, make architectural decisions, and actively shape both our systems and our engineering practices.

Your tasks

• Development of central backend systems
• ; conception and implementation of scalable solutions for billing, tariff models and energy industry processes.
• Design of the system architecture;
• collaboration throughout the entire development cycle – from design to deployment – ​​with a focus on maintainability, scalability and technical correctness.
• Solving technical challenges
• ; working on complex topics such as data modeling, asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
• Teamwork:
• Close coordination with Product, Frontend and DevOps for the development of cloud-based solutions.
• Further development of processes and technologies.
• Introducing new ideas, improving engineering practices and using modern tools, e.g. in the field of AI-supported development.
• Modernization of existing systems:
• Further development and migration of legacy systems into modern architectures.

Your profile

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of experience in backend development
• Excellent knowledge of Python and Django
• Experience in the design and development of REST APIs
• Experience with distributed systems / microservices
• Good knowledge of relational databases (especially PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD processes
• Excellent English skills

Nice-to-have

• Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic or Django Ninja
• Knowledge of Celery or similar tools
• Experience with the integration of external systems (e.g., ERP, APIs)
• Basic knowledge of React / TypeScript
• Interest in the energy industry or regulated markets
