This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend in India. This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and support high-performance backend systems used by a global developer community. You will contribute to scalable solutions that power critical business initiatives, collaborate across engineering and product teams, and ensure the robustness of complex applications. The position involves ownership of technical projects end-to-end, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement in software quality and engineering practices. Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and applications with a focus on scalability and performance. Take end-to-end ownership of features and projects, from design through production deployment. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver critical business solutions. Participate in code reviews, drive best practices, and mentor junior engineers to promote high-quality development standards. Troubleshoot complex issues across operating systems, databases, and programming environments, providing innovative solutions. Create prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and technical documentation to support iterative development. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team and the broader organization. 3–6 years of experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on scalable systems. Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Ruby, Node.js, Python, Java, C/C++, or Golang. Solid understanding of operating systems, databases, networking concepts, and cross-platform development (Windows/Linux). Experience designing and building performant and reliable software at scale. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
