Role We are looking for a backend-oriented Senior Software Engineer to help us advance our clinical AI by designing and building core systems that handle, process, and analyze clinical data at scale. The ideal candidate for this role has a track record of delivering complex features in incrementally valuable releases and with a high bar for quality. While this role focuses on backend systems, strong candidates are able to deliver across the stack. **This role is fully remote within the US** What You’ll Do Design, build and launch new backend services, capabilities and improve the overall quality of SmarterDx’s apps Collaborate across disciplines to understand our users and iterate on new ideas Protect patients’ privacy and security through secure coding practices Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team Support SmarterDx’s apps in production What You Bring 5+ years of development experience with a focus on backend and cloud-based solutions Expertise in Python Experience working with Postgres or a similar relational database Experience building cloud-native distributed systems and working with event-driven architectures Experience working with data scientists to plan, build, and iterate on deliverables Experience working in a security-conscious environment Excellent communication and team collaboration skills Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience Nice To Haves Experience at a scale-up, or rapid growth, technology company Experience in the health tech domain, particularly in hospital billing systems Experience working with Kubernetes Experience working with Airflow and tools that handle ELT pipelines Experience with Snowflake and dbt Experience with full stack ownership and development (Javascript/React) Our Stack Python, React, Kubernetes, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Airflow, Snowflake Compensation $190K to $230K base salary #LI-DNI Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision – Comprehensive plans with leading insurance providers, covering 75% of your premiums, depending on the plan.
