The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our Vehicle Management Systems team located in Hazelwood, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
A Phantom Works Proprietary program is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to support a real time embedded Vehicle Management System (VMS) software development, integration and test. These Vehicle Management Systems will provide flight critical guidance and control for a wide variety of Boeing fixed wing, weapons, and proprietary programs. Work will be performed at the Boeing St. Louis area campus locations supporting Boeing Phantom Works and other business areas.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience developing VMS software and/or associated real time systems
  • 5+ years of experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience with SMARTER Team Development toolset and development methodology
  • Ability to interface with various project teams, management, Suppliers, and Boeing technical support
  • Experience with and knowledge of real time embedded system architectures and designs
  • Real time software domain knowledge including common programming languages used in real time systems
  • Knowledge of real time target environments
    Travel: Occasional domestic travel may be required from time to time. Minimal below 5%.
Responsibilities
  • Develop architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for real time embedded software systems supporting a diverse set of VMS platforms
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system to meet a wide variety of mission goals and customers
  • Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments.
  • Execute tests at multiple levels to verify VMS software performance
  • Implement state of the art software development practices, processes and tools to create a world class production system for VMS software and related products
  • Integrate supplier provided software and systems with Boeing developed components to create complete VMS systems
    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
