THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer to take responsibility drive the design, development, and ongoing improvement of our applications that enhance the gym member experience. This role requires strong expertise in React Native and work planning, with the ability to contribute across the entire system. The position focuses on improving engineering practices in line with Continuous Delivery principles, and plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, maintainable code and efficient delivery of mobile solutions.
Your goal in this role is to deliver high quality and maintainable software, while helping the team adopt Continuous Delivery principles. This role will be focused on our iOS/Android mobile apps which have been implemented in React Native.

Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Collaborating with product owners and department heads to understand requirements and independently design and drive solutions from concept to production.
  • Frequently shipping releasable code, in small, safe increments (i.e. multiple times per day).
  • Stepping outside your comfort zone, quickly adapting to new technologies and problems.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing blockers, before they become issues.
  • Producing code of excellent quality, that is simple to understand, change, test, re-use.
  • Producing code that is always in a releasable state.
  • Taking a scientific and incremental approach to software engineering, including but not limited to identifying and reducing technical-debt, and continuously improving architecture and practices.Driving testing and quality approaches, setting a strong example for others in the team.
