Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to modernize cross-platform desktop applications used across the VFX and design software ecosystem. Join our engineering team working on a project with a Fortune 500 product company.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

  • Proficient in C++ development for desktop applications
  • Strong experience with Python in cross-platform build environments
  • Hands-on with Windows, Linux, and macOS development
  • Experience with Conan and CMake for dependency and build management
  • Familiarity with Git and modern development environments like VSCode

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Exposure to VFX platforms such as Maya, 3DS Max, and MotionBuilder
  • Familiarity with GitHub Co-Pilot or AI-assisted coding tools
  • Experience working with tools like Cursor for collaborative development
Responsibilities
  • Modernize desktop applications by upgrading dependencies to align with Autodesk and VFX Reference Platform standards
  • Design, develop, and implement robust software components using C++ and Python
  • Support and install software applications across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments
  • Participate in testing processes including code reviews, test analysis, and certification
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to plan and execute toolchain updates including compilers and libraries
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of build pipelines using CMake and Conan
  • Ensure code quality and version control using Git and modern development tools
