ROLE SUMMARY As a Senior Software Engineer (SSE1) — Full Stack, you will help shape and deliver high-impact modernization initiatives at FAI. You will: Probe stated and unstated business needs Translate complex functional requirements into clean system designs Build cloud-native, AI-assisted full-stack applications Simplify, accelerate, and outperform legacy workflows You will own modules end-to-end across: Python services NestJS APIs Next.js / React front-ends TypeScript applications while adhering to the team’s coding standards and a continuous Build–Integrate–Test (Agile) approach. You will also apply: Strong debugging and performance-tuning concepts Peer code review practices AI-assisted developer tools such as: Cursor Claude Code GitHub Copilot to accelerate delivery without compromising quality. STRATEGIC FOCUS — PLATFORM MODERNIZATION Re-platform business-critical capabilities into modern, in-house microservices and React / Next.js experiences on AWS. Key Goals Improve total cost of ownership Increase performance and observability Accelerate product velocity Raise the engineering bar through AI-assisted development practices OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE — WHAT YOU’LL DO Partner with business analysts, product managers, and domain SMEs to discover, document, and translate complex business workflows into modern microservices and UIs. Design and deliver scalable, secure, event-driven full-stack features using: Python (FastAPI / Django) NestJS Next.js React TypeScript Build and consume well-documented: REST APIs GraphQL APIs OpenAPI / Swagger specifications Author data extraction, transformation, and migration utilities to move data from legacy systems into modern PostgreSQL and DynamoDB stores. Collaborate on AWS-native deployments using: Lambda ECS / EKS S3 RDS DynamoDB Work with: CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure-as-Code practices Champion AI-assisted development using: Cursor Claude Code GitHub Copilot Troubleshoot, debug, and performance-tune applications across the stack. Participate in operational excellence and on-call rotations for production workloads. Mentor associate engineers, share learnings, and help establish reusable patterns and platform building blocks for other teams across FAI.
