Description

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

At Flexciton, we work with high-tech factories built with investments worth hundreds of millions of dollars, producing advanced chips at the atomic level. It can take up to nine months to fabricate these cutting-edge products.
We are proud to be the only SaaS product in the world that plans and schedules production in high-tech semiconductor fabs, using complex algorithms in real-time, all from our London office. We generate more than 10,000 schedules daily to operate hundreds of multimillion-dollar semiconductor manufacturing equipment in photolithography, etching, metal deposition, and metrology.
Our technology consistently delivers the best production schedules, and leading companies like Seagate trust Flexciton to run their production 24/7. With operations across the US, Europe, and expansion into Asia, we are on a path to realise our vision for the Autonomous Factory.

JOB SUMMARY

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive complex technical initiatives and deliver high-quality solutions across our manufacturing automation platform. As an experienced individual contributor, you’ll work independently on critical features, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor junior team members while helping maintain our high engineering standards as we continue to scale.

Over the next 12 months you will be involved in:

  • Scaling our operations and managing increasing platform complexity, identifying optimal trade-offs between cost-effectiveness, security, and robustness to maximize productivity for complex wafer fabrication facilities
  • Implementing AI tools throughout our development and testing workflows to increase productivity, improve quality, and deliver more value to customers faster and more reliably
  • Leading the development of new products and driving complex feature solutions from conception to market
  • Designing and delivering internal automation solutions to support our expanding factory network, while developing innovative manufacturing automation and autonomy solutions that bring greater value to both new and existing wafer manufacturing segments

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Experience building Python-based systems and deploying to production
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex technical problems
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and system design principles
  • Experience with modern development practices including testing and CI/CD
  • Experience working with APIs and data processing
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
