About the role Australian Retirement Trust (ART) is seeking a highly capable and collaborative Senior Software Engineer to join our Enablement team within the Technology business unit. This role is instrumental in designing and delivering high-quality application solutions that support ART's strategic goals and benefit our members. You'll lead technical decision-making, mentor peers, and drive continuous improvement across platforms and technologies. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and support application solutions aligned with ART's technical strategy. Analyse and implement changes based on business requirements, including documentation and testing. Investigate and resolve system incidents and problems, recommending preventative measures. Lead code reviews and ensure consistent, high-quality development standards. Manage branching, deployment, and release coordination activities. Provide expert advice to technical and non-technical stakeholders across platforms. Mentor and support team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment. Promote continuous improvement and ensure alignment with ART's delivery and risk frameworks. This role is a permanent opportunity. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: Key Skills and Experience Experience with COBOL and SQL, including relational database design and optimisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Experience in superannuation or similar financial services environments. Knowledge of Appian and experience developing within cloud-based platforms. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for Agile delivery and documentation. Proven ability to lead technical decisions and support peer development. Expertise in code branching, version control, and deployment pipelines.
