As a Senior Software Engineer in Release Engineering, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a reliable CI/CD platform that supports software deployment across multiple cloud environments. You will improve developer velocity and reliability by implementing automation, observability, and self-service capabilities. This role involves collaborating across distributed teams to identify bottlenecks, refine release workflows, and evolve infrastructure-as-code practices. You will work with modern tools like Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform, Python, GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes to enhance deployment systems. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability, safety, and efficiency of the organization’s software delivery process, while enabling engineers to ship code faster and more confidently. The role offers a remote-friendly environment with a strong focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Accountabilities Design, implement, and maintain components of the CI/CD platform to ensure safe, fast, and reliable deployments. Lead initiatives to improve automation, observability, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify friction points and build tools to optimize release processes. Evolve release architecture to support multi-cloud, distributed infrastructure at scale. Continuously refine build pipelines, release workflows, and infrastructure-as-code practices to enhance developer experience. Contribute to platform tooling and automation to support consistent, high-quality software delivery. Experience designing, operating, or improving CI/CD systems for large-scale distributed applications. Proficiency with tools such as Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform, GitHub Actions, or Kubernetes. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices and principles of reliable, observable systems. Strong programming background in Python, Go, or another modern language for automation or platform tooling. Collaborative mindset with a focus on enabling other developers through tooling improvements. Experience working asynchronously in a fully remote, distributed team environment. Preferred: Experience with progressive delivery systems like Kargo. Hands-on experience with multi-cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure). Proven track record of improving developer productivity or release safety at scale. Competitive salary: $137,000–$196,000 USD. Equity stake in the company.
