Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and highly interactive software solutions for our advanced analysis instruments. Your work will focus on creating state-of-the-art imaging and visualization applications that empower researchers to gain profound insights into complex scientific phenomena.

  • You will drive the development of cutting-edge analysis and visualization software as part of the Analysis Instruments Software Team, enabling researchers to explore and understand the intricacies of nature.
  • Collaborating within a cross-functional agile team, you will design, specify, implement, and integrate modern software solutions tailored to research needs, leveraging diverse data modalities and dimensionalities.
  • Your expertise will contribute to the creation of highly interactive visualization concepts, ensuring precise, efficient, and intuitive user experiences.
  • You will write high-quality software in C++, apply rigorous unit testing, and conduct peer reviews to maintain the highest standards of software quality.
  • Leveraging your experience, you will continuously improve team performance, development processes, and the overall quality of deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences (e.g., Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics), or a related field.
  • You have significant experience in writing and reviewing production-level C++ code, including advanced concepts such as multithreading and UI development. Clean coding principles are second nature to you.
  • You are passionate about developing complex and highly interactive imaging and visualization software applications. Experience with Qt and Python is a strong plus.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and have a proven ability to evaluate and enhance existing solutions. Experience in scientific visualization or control software is highly desirable.
  • You thrive in an agile, international environment and are solution-oriented, with a mindset geared toward tackling challenges in complex systems.
