Mō te tūranga | About the role The Senior Software Engineer in the Proactive Risk Management (PRM) Squad will design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Java applications for fraud and financial crime platforms. Key responsibilities include implementing changes to meet specifications, debugging and resolving issues, documenting the Software Development Life Cycle, and supporting application processes. The role requires collaboration with the PRM team throughout project phases, managing release activities, and participating in after-hours on-call support. Please note: - This position requires participation in an afterhours on call support roster. Ōu Pūkenga | About you Design, develop, test, and maintain integration solutions for fraud and financial crime platforms. Work closely with the PRM Squad across all phases of delivery cycles, providing technical expertise and insight. Resolve technical issues effectively and provide ongoing support for PRM platforms, including participation in after-hours on-call rosters. Contribute to release and deployment processes, ensuring thorough documentation and accurate logging of all technical actions. Maintain, review, and enhance application support procedures to ensure reliability and system resilience. Monitor system performance proactively, identifying and addressing potential issues before they affect operations. Document each stage of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for transparency and compliance. Assess and implement requested changes in alignment with design specifications and business requirements. Investigate and monitor recurring issues to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Support integrations with third-party applications and APIs as needed. Me aha ahau kia angitu? | What do I need to be successful? At least 8 years of hands-on Java development experience, demonstrating deep expertise with Maven, Spring Boot, and Tomcat environments. Advanced proficiency in integrating technologies such as SOAP, XML, TCP, Kafka, MQ Config, and MQ Java client solutions. Familiarity with Chef Pipelines, Terraform, and SQL. Skills or experience in Jenkins/CloudBees Pipelines, Linux administration, Datapower, and Venafi (certificates and security) are considered an advantage, though not essential. Optional familiarity with system monitoring tools including Splunk and Dynatrace. Proven success in Agile (Scrum) settings, actively contributing across all phases of the development lifecycle and supporting continuous delivery methodologies. Highly knowledgeable in application and system architecture, consistently improving reliability, scalability, and resilience. Experienced in designing and maintaining integrations with a wide variety of third-party applications and APIs. Exceptional documentation and technical communication abilities, promoting transparency and regulatory compliance throughout the SDLC. Recognised for proactively identifying, analysing, and resolving recurring technical challenges, thereby fostering ongoing improvement.
