JOB OVERVIEW: The Delivery team is responsible for enhancements and maintenance of the core of Kevel’s main revenue stream - ad serving. The high throughput systems operate globally with low latency requirements, and the team strives for 100% uptime. This engineer will work with the team on modernizing the systems, improving reliability and robustness, while developing new features to gain new customers.
LOCATION: Remote - United Kingdom. This position is 100% remote. Applicants located anywhere within the United Kingdom are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: Kevel uses external, third-party market data to determine compensation for all open positions. Our compensation philosophy is based on the candidate’s specific working location and experience level.
This means that we will take a no negotiation approach in our recruitment and offer processes. We believe this is an important step in living our value of embracing diversity while underlining our commitment to fair, equitable and inclusive pay practices.
The pay range for this position is between £80,000 - £89,000. An exact offer for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s working location and experience level, in relation to our existing team.
In regards to candidate location in the US specifically, Kevel currently uses validated external data sources to determine which US locations are considered higher cost of living metropolitan areas compared to others. Candidates are welcome to reference the following chart to get a general sense of where they may fall within the pay range based on US location.

SKILLS YOU’LL BRING WITH YOU:

  • Experience building complex distributed systems designed specifically for the cloud.
  • Amazon Web Services experience, including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Kinesis, EFS, Redshift, SQS, Lambdas, CloudFormation.
  • Programming experience in functional languages or specifically experience with Clojure, Rust, NodeJS, JVM.
  • Experience working with database technologies, including transactions.
  • Event stream processing experience.
  • HTTP-based API experience.
  • Observability platform experience including metrics collection and visualization, log aggregation and analysis, alerting and notification systems, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Experience improving the rate at which changes to the system can be tested and reducing feedback cycle times (e.g. unit, integration or simulation tests).
  • Experience refactoring (in the restructuring the source code of an application to improve its operation without altering the functionality) existing distributed systems.
