Your tasks

• Strategic System Architecture:  You don't just build features, you build and are responsible for the backbone of Crateflow. You further develop the backend and platform core (Python, Django REST) ​​and ensure that our architecture scales well into the future – from the first line of code to deployment.
• Pipeline Master:  Data is our fuel. You design, operate, and simplify our data and ML pipelines. You integrate ERP sources and ensure that our ML models (time series, forecasting) run seamlessly in robust production flows (MLOps with MLflow).
• Keeping Crateflow stable:  As we grow rapidly, you are our rock in the storm. You are responsible for deployments in the Kubernetes environment (AKS, Docker), automate CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and build a monitoring system (Prometheus, Grafana) that alerts us to problems before the customer sees them.
• Engineering Culture & Ownership:  You approach development not just operationally, but structurally. You set technical guidelines, have a strong "can-do" attitude, conduct tough but fair code reviews, and coach our junior developers. Your goal: to continuously raise the technical level of the entire team. Together with us, you explore the possibilities and limitations of AI-driven workflows and push them to their limits, ensuring we stay ahead of the industry standard. You take ownership of your backend, challenge requirements, and actively shape what we build and why.

Your profile

• Substance over buzzwords:  You have at least 3-5 years of real-world experience as a software engineer. You haven't just seen production systems, you've built and maintained them. This wasn't just about development; you were involved in the entire lifecycle, from conception, development, and deployment to testing and operation of the solution. Your GitHub account demonstrates passion, not just academic homework.
• Tech stack:  Regardless of the specific programming language, you feel at home in container orchestration and modern cloud infrastructure.
• A quality fanatic with a pragmatic approach:  You love clean code, tests, and reviews. But you also know when "good enough" is better than "perfect." You know when rapid prototyping makes sense—and when it's time to turn it into easily maintainable software that runs stably and reliably supports our customers.
• Systems thinker:  You understand that good engineering is more than just building individual features. You have experience with production systems and know how to balance performance, stability, and maintainability in distributed systems.
• Personality:  High self-motivation, analytical acumen, and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts (fluent English, German at least B2 level). You have a "founder mentality"—you don't wait for tasks, you see work and do it.
