Description
Requirements:4+ years of full-stack software development experience, with a back-end focus and a product-oriented mindset; capable of building focused, functional interfaces without unnecessary complexity.
Strong TypeScript fundamentals, with experience in other languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C# also valued.
Deep PostgreSQL experience, including schema evolution, transaction isolation, lock contention, query optimization, and working directly with SQL rather than relying on ORMs.
Experience building asynchronous and long-running workflows, with a strong understanding of idempotency, retries, partial failures, and out-of-order events. Temporal experience is beneficial but not required.
Experience developing systems where financial accuracy is critical, such as ledgers, reconciliation, billing, or payments, with a strong focus on correctness and failure scenarios.
Proven ownership of significant product and technical decisions, including accountability for business outcomes and long-term consequences.
Practical, daily use of LLMs in software development, with the ability to articulate their benefits, limitations, and appropriate applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders across risk, finance, and customer care.
Clear technical opinions, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to challenge ideas constructively while balancing technical quality with business needs.
Ability to work autonomously in a small, collaborative team within a regulated environment, balancing engineering priorities with necessary compliance and operational processes.
Experience in a consequence-aware industry such as fintech, health tech, insurance, or payments is a strong asset, particularly where software errors have direct implications for customers.
