We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build the security services and tools that power Microsoft365 security operations. We are a cross-disciplinary team of engineers with wide-ranging expertise in security operations, large-scale software systems, big data, and machine learning. We partner with services all over Microsoft365 and Azure, and we solve problems touching all aspects of the security operations center: instrumentation, intrusion detection, hunting, remediation, and more. We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    o OR equivalent experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

ADDITIONAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    o OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    o OR equivalent experience.
    . Experience designing and delivering projects end to end
    . Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
    . Independent and self-motivated
    . Self-learner with passion for technology
    . Experience working with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java or Python
    . Full-stack development experience including both backend services and UI development
    . Rapid prototyping and iteration skills
    . Experience with low level code and Windows internals
    . Experience acting in tech lead roles on projects
    . Experience working with data lakes and data pipelines
    . Experience securing software and microservices
    . Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable
    Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Write well-designed code with an emphasis on quality, maintainability, scalability, and performance.
  • Execute the dev-ops approach to software delivery by designing, coding, testing, deploying, and operating components of the Microsoft 365 security monitoring system.
  • Lead projects with multiple engineers, in collaboration with stakeholders from multiple teams.
