A Day in Your Life at MKS / Atotech As a Senior Software Engineer (Industrial Automation) at MKS / Atotech, you will join an international development team responsible for software modifications and enhancements for existing industrial customers. This role is not focused on pure R&D — instead, you will work on a stable, long-term product and customer roadmap, contributing to a continuous pipeline of enhancement projects. You will develop, test, and integrate software changes for industrial automation systems, collaborating closely with experienced colleagues across multiple countries. In this role, you will report directly to the Hiring Manager and work closely with a technical team lead and subject matter experts. You Will Make an Impact By Software Development & Enhancements Designing, developing, and maintaining small to mid-sized software modifications (typically 40–160 hours) for industrial automation solutions. PLC Logic Development Implementing and adapting PLC logic using IEC 61131‑3 / Structured Text (ST) according to customer-specific requirements. Testing, Integration & Debugging Ensuring software quality through structured testing, debugging, and system integration activities. Collaboration in an International Team Working closely with engineers and technical experts in a globally distributed team environment. Continuous Improvement Contributing ideas for process improvements, code quality, and solution stability within a long-term development roadmap. Skills You Bring Solid professional experience as a Software Engineer / Automation Software Engineer Good JavaScript knowledge (beyond basic understanding; regular hands-on experience required) Proven experience with PLC logic development using IEC 61131‑3 (Structured Text) Experience with testing, debugging, and integrating industrial software solutions English for daily collaboration in an international environment Nice to Have Experience with industrial networks or industrial IT environments Background in commissioning, automation projects, or digital industrial solutions Experience working in globally distributed or cross-cultural teams We Offer Competitive Compensation.
