The role
The SoftwareOne Marketplace Platform Team is seeking .NET engineers who enjoy working with the latest technologies and practices and are inspired to learn new things in new ways. You will be part of a 60 strong engineering team that prides itself on understanding the business that we support and evolve. Our approach to platform engineering aims to build SoftwareOne’s online marketplace, client interfaces, internal integrations and external vendor relations to a world class standard. Our philosophies include establishing a blame-free environment focused on continuous improvement. We strive to live a feedback culture that keeps an open mind to new ideas and productively challenges the ones we do not understand.

Responsibilities

• Closely collaborate with other team members (frontend, backend and QA) and product management to deliver value to our stakeholders.
• Together with other engineers and architects, design and implement performant applications in a service-oriented architecture landscape.
• Participate in technical design reviews, peer code review, retrospectives and business design sessions
• Be a tireless advocate of code quality and business representation.
• Operate as an empathetic communicator, in order to understand and offer understanding in a highly collaborative environment

What we need to see from you

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a product driven engineering function, ideally using .NET
• Experienced creating robust, performant RESTful applications
• Exposure to building/supporting open source projects, SDKs and public APIs for the wider developer community and third-party system integrators
• Practical experience of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes and general DevOps-forward working environments
• Experience of working in a multi-team organisation with multiple workstreams within a shared product landscape
