The Test Engineering team within the Mission Systems Whole Life Engineering department is seeking to fill a Senior Software Engineer who will be part of a team focused on the development, integration, test, and maintenance of hardware/software as a part of on-site factory support of test systems to support product testing. In this role, you will develop applications, libraries, and instrument drivers using the software style, and integrated development environment specified by the organization. This individual may have responsibilities across multiple teams in the department.
This position provides the opportunity to contribute to multidiscipline engineering teams. Typical work involves the development of both engineering and production test equipment, environments, and systems. As such, you will contribute to the completion of all stages of test station product. You will be expected to act, either as a part of their team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test systems.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with software developer (Phyton) and Hardware Debug.
  • Experience with reading wiring schematics.
  • Experience with diagnostic of radio communication and components testing.
  • Experience supporting automated test stations or systems.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong technical writing skills and an ability to collaborate with a cross functional team of professionals.
  • Ability to interface ATE test software with laboratory and production tests instrumentation such as but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and/or direct current power supplies.
  • Experience with Structured query language (SQL) programming language for storing and processing information in a relational database.
  • Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)
  • Excellent time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multitask and delegate work to support technicians, engineering support staff and peers.
  • Design and implement activities required to deploy the project test solutions to world-wide destinations.

  • Develop and maintain radio communication test equipment and analyze software/hardware for a diagnostic test environment.
  • Support test station efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance for all test software activities.
  • Prioritize, handle, and lead multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware for test equipment development
  • Communication with an engineering team, functional team, and program leadership
  • Coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules.
  • Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management, and customers.
  • Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments.
