MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. * 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. * 3 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging. * 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. * Experience developing software applications using the C++ programming language. * Experience with object-oriented programming, templates, and the Standard Template Library (STL). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. * 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. * 3 years of experience shipping embedded software products. * 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. * Experience developing Linux systems, Android systems, or embedded systems. * Experience with TPU, GPU, and on-device machine learning (ML) models and with SQL and data pipelines. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead (often cross-team) initiatives to define, measure, optimize, and monitor key performance indicators in Pixel Camera's Android application code. * Collaborate with Camera feature and on-device ML teams to ensure features are optimized for speed, memory, and thermals. * Develop and utilize telemetry data infrastructure to offer leadership insights crucial for verifiable high performance, reliability, and system health. * Provide in-depth insights from advanced profiling tools to prioritize and validate improvements.
