About the job

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You'll play a key role in designing and building scalable, event-driven backend systems on AWS while influencing architecture and engineering best practices across the platform.

Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite in Dublin 8

• Key Responsibilities Include:Design and build scalable Python microservices on AWS.
• Develop event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SQS and SNS.
• Design APIs, data models and cloud infrastructure.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Improve system performance, scalability, observability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers across the business and mentor junior team members.

• Required Experience:5+ years' experience developing backend applications.
• Strong AWS experience, including Lambda and serverless architectures.
• Excellent Python development skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or Terraform).
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Experience with DynamoDB, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud observability tools such as Datadog is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
• Nice to have:Multi-tenant SaaS experience.
• AI/LLM integration experience.
• IoT or connected device experience.
