You will bring:

• Engage in hands-on development across the full Software Development Lifecycle
• Participate in the design, delivery, and training of RecordPoint solutions to customers
• Support our Cloud-based SaaS service and build an understanding of the deployment models for both RecordPoint on-premises and Cloud-based solutions
• Perform engineering analysis of products and provide sound decision making for software engineering and product development
• Ensure technical designs are well documented, kept up to date, and communicated across the engineering team
• Ensure code is maintained and testable through automated testing frameworks
• Keep abreast of technology trends and incorporate new standards and technology into the product where appropriate
• Work alongside other engineers, participate in engineering meetings and assist other team members where required
• Develop your productivity skills by learning source control, editors, the build system, and other tools as well as testing best practices
• Develop knowledge of a single component of our architecture

You will have:

• A Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related IT degree.
• Broad knowledge of core Computer Science concepts.
• Professional experience working in a development team, crafting and building software using the latest delivery techniques
• Experience building a SaaS product
• Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Skills for effectively communicating status to the team
• A real passion for quality, clean code, and continuous improvement
• An understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design
• A highly dedicated ethos and take end-to-end responsibility for the work you're doing
• A test-and-learn mindset with an emphasis on curiosity, collaboration, and care

About the role

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced PHP Engineer to join our team. The ideal

candidate should have strong technical skills in PHP engineering, AWS, and

Laravel framework. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent

communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work

collaboratively with team members.

Position salary is between $80,000 to $90,000 + SGC Superannuation

Key responsibilities:

• Engineer, maintain and enhance web applications using PHP and Laravel framework
• Work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and others to deploy, manage and monitor web applications
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other engineers to ensure timely delivery of projects
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other engineers
• Participate in the development of technical documentation, such as API, documentation, user guides, and development standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug web applications as needed
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development

Qualifications & Experience Applicants must have:

• Five+ years relevant experience;
• A recognised postgraduate qualification in Software Engineering;
• Strong experience with Laravel framework, preferably recent versions
• Strong experience with Dockerizing a PHP Laravel application
• Strong experience in distributed architecture for highly available and scalable applications.
• Strong experience in debugging performance and other related issues
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and others
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of database design and management, particularly with MySQL
• Experience with Git and code versioning tools and CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
• Experience with PowerBl or alternative BI platforms.
• Experience with RPA and process automation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members

Desirable:

• Experience with other PHP frameworks such as Symfony or Codelgniter
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Ansible
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
