Saab, Inc. is looking for experienced, energetic, creative, and talented Senior Software Engineer at our corporate headquarters in Syracuse, New York.

Saab, Inc. serves a global client base including national and international governments and industries in air defense, air traffic management, and airline and airport operations management. As a member of our growing software team, candidates will actively participate in the architecture, design, implementation, test and integration of mission critical software.
Compensation Range: $112,900 - $146,800
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate’s work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:

Required Skills:

• C\C++ or Java programming experience
• Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills preferably utilizing UML
• Strong LINUX environment skills including command line and scripting tools
• Proficient with scripting languages and LINUX command line tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Aviation systems background\domain interest.
• Knowledge of software Design Patterns and frameworks.
• Experience with distributed computing technology and message services (e.g. JMS, CORBA, MQ).
• Experience with unit test frameworks (e.g. Junit, GTest, JTest, googletest).
• Experience with automated build systems (e.g. Jenkins, Maven) and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Python, Ansible

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience Required: 8 years of programming in C\C++ or JAVA; 6 years with a Master of Science in an engineering or related discipline
