Are you a passionate Software Engineer looking to make a real impact? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions directly shape the product and company culture? If so, Satlantis is the place for you!
We’re a tech startup based in Gainesville, Florida, on a mission to develop cutting-edge solutions for Earth observation and space exploration. We specialize in high-performance satellite technology and advanced data processing. We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to spearhead our satellite data processing initiatives and help us push the boundaries of what’s possible.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong technical leadership to drive the development of our satellite data processing platform. This is a hands-on role where you will own backend services, ETL/ELT pipelines, and large-scale processing powering AI and satellite imagery workflows.
You will set engineering standards, mentor teammates, and ship reliable systems that move data from raw capture to insight—fast. The role requires deep knowledge of software development and data processing algorithms, as well as leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience building production-grade backend systems.
  • Proficiency in Python; knowledge of TypeScript, Go, C++, or Rust is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of asynchronous I/O and concurrency models.
  • Experience designing and operating RESTful APIs at scale.
  • Hands-on production experience with ETL/ELT orchestration systems.
  • Strong SQL and database design knowledge; familiarity with non-relational and object storage.
  • Cloud & DevOps expertise: AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform/Terragrunt.
  • Experience with observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and quality assurance practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in projects or teams, including mentoring and roadmap ownership.

  • Mentor junior engineers, shape hiring needs, and support team onboarding.
  • Manage DevOps processes: IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD.
