WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work alongside engineering team to design and develop features, fix bugs, review code, write and design automated tests for one or more of the systems in order to provide business value to the company. You will have the opportunity to provide technical leadership and guide the team in making technical decisions and developing solutions. In this role, you’ll play an integral part in guiding the design of large projects, providing mentorship for all developers, and contributing to larger technical initiatives across the engineering organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Designing software systems, web user experiences, and micro-services to implement improvements and new capabilities for systems owned by the team
• Designing architectural improvements to an event-driven microservice architecture
• Researching and determining the proper technologies the team should use to solve problems and implement features
• Working with staff engineers to develop solutions to broader organization-wide design issues
• Mentoring other engineers on smaller design issues within the team
• Breaking down large features and projects into manageable units of work to distribute to the rest of the team
• Identifying and reducing technical debt by contributing solutions and building business value arguments
• Planning and estimating features the roadmap to determine the next sprint goalsDevelopment of new features and improvements
• Fixing bugs and refactoring to improve Flipp internal and open source packages
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely production support, ensuring system reliability and swiftly resolving critical issues as they arise.
• Writing and designing automated unit tests
• Writing and designing automated integration tests
• Developing test strategies for features and projects
• Developing and enhancing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for the team
• Enforcing testable coding practices within the team through code reviews and mentoringTeam Leadership
• Mentoring Junior and Intermediate engineers
• Performing code reviews and providing constructive feedback for other team members
• Providing support for critical issues in production by responding quickly and finding solutions
