Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability (Bank Modernization)

We are seeking DevOps Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Collaborate with BankMod App Teams, PFC, BankTech product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
  • You will apply your hands-on experience with Cloud native CI/CD pipelines for quickly ramping up with the CapitalOne CI/CD solution that is built using Jenkins, Python, Terraform, AWS boto3 APIs, CDK for IaC, github, artifactory.
  • Your Technical skills, excellent communication, data analysis, and effective problem-solving will play an important role in supporting Bank Mod Application teams who troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines failures and unblock Software Developers for Software build & deploy
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Angular or React)
  • 3+ years of experience with SRE practices
  • 3+ years of experience with building CICD Pipelines with Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub and monitoring tools (Splunk, New Relic)
  • 2+ years of experience in designing and building Cloud infrastructure design and delivery solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
  • 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
