• You will take on the professional leadership of our development team, support colleagues through mentoring and knowledge transfer, and make technology-oriented decisions together.
• You will design, document and further develop a scalable, maintainable and extensible software architecture for manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• You keep a holistic eye on system stability, performance and scalability, and ensure high quality through architecture and code reviews as well as appropriate testing and CI/CD strategies.
• You develop and maintain interfaces between the production software and adjacent systems (e.g. ERP, SCADA, data platforms, production facilities) and seamlessly integrate new functions into the existing system landscape.
• Working closely with the Product Owner, IT and specialist departments, you will manage the technical implementation – from architectural decisions to go-live.
• You monitor technological trends, evaluate tools and methods, and actively incorporate innovations into the roadmap.
• You will pragmatically shape the use of AI along the DevOps cycle (analysis, development, testing, deployment, operation, monitoring) – e.g. for automation, quality assurance and efficiency improvement.

What makes you stand out

• Completed studies in computer science, software engineering or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience (approx. 5+ years) in the architecture and development of complex enterprise software – ideally in production-related environments (MES, automation, logistics or Industry 4.0)
• Excellent knowledge of Java as well as experience with common frameworks/standards (e.g. Spring, Jakarta EE) and confident in developing backend and (depending on the product) frontend components.
• Excellent understanding of integrations and interfaces (APIs, messaging/eventing) as well as experience in connecting third-party systems
• Good SQL skills and experience with database design; plus: understanding of industrial manufacturing processes.
• Experience with agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban, and enjoyment in pragmatically implementing them within a team.
• Analytical and structured work style, strong problem-solving skills, teamwork and communication skills
• Fluent German skills and very good English skills
• Advantage: Experience in using AI tools/approaches in the software lifecycle (e.g., for testing, operations, automation, or developer experience)
