Working as part of a team, you will work across a product portfolio that encompasses cutting edge Land & Sea products and fulfil an integral software engineering role, involved in many aspects of software development across the full software lifecycle. Our products increasingly utilise Image Processing, AI and Data Analytics to keep Thales at the forefront of technology via diverse platforms such as System on Chip, Microcontrollers, Single Board Computers, through to HCI consoles. There exists opportunities across this spectrum from low level near hardware development to behavioural application and user interface layers.

REQUIREMENTS

Ideally you will have:

  • You are a self-motivated software professional with 5+ years of experience
  • Developed with C++ language
  • Have some exposure to RTOS/OS
  • Experience of working with test frameworks (e.g. GoolgeTest, GoogleMock)
  • Experience of working with static analysis tools (e.g. Klocwork, Coverity) and test coverage tools (e.g. Bullseye).
  • Have some exposure to test automation/continuous build & integration
  • Have experience of Rhapsody (or similar tool) and UML
  • Experience in requirements management (e.g. DOORS)
  • Developing software systems to meet international safety systems such as IEC 61508 or DO-178C is desirable
  • Experience working within a software team in an Agile environment
Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with your team, provide technical leadership and ownership for a software design
  • Where required work collaboratively with other engineering functions to analyse solution/product level requirements and operational concepts and contribute to a solution level architecture
  • Contribute to the development of software architectures that consider the constraints placed upon the system, write clear and concise software design definitions and record/capture design decisions/rationale
  • Develop software primarily in C++ that follows software design and interface control descriptions/specifications and adheres to the software architectures written in UML
  • Contribute to the testing activity appropriate to the products
  • Proactively be part of an Agile Scrum team and contribute to Agile ceremonies
  • Support peer reviews of others work and generation of materials for major gate reviews
