SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Location: Chertsey, KT16, England
Job Type: Permanent | On-site, 5 days per week
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a specialist SME engineering consultancy delivering innovative, high-integrity systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong background in software design and development with C++
• Experience with embedded/real-time systems
• Knowledge of UML design tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect)
• Familiarity with version control and structured software testing
• Team leadership or mentoring experience
• Must currently hold UK Security Clearance (SC or DV)
• Sole UK nationality, full UK driving licence
• Ability to work on-site, 5 days per week in Chertsey (KT16)

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
• Define software architecture and detailed designs
• Develop and test C++ software, including embedded and real-time applications
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, and systems teams
• Support integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing
• Work with containerised applications (e.g., Docker)
