Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Innovation Station, you will lead the design and development of advanced robotic systems. You will be responsible for creating and simulating mechanical components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical and software solutions, driving innovation in our robotics projects. Additionally, you will leverage 3D printing technologies to prototype and manufacture components efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for robotic applications from POC to MVP and pre-series. • Create detailed CAD models and simulations of robotic components and systems.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and performance evaluations of mechanical designs.
  • Prepare and execute PRD, Development in V-cycle or agile, Testing and V&V strategy, documentation
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and software components.
  • Perform and lead testing and debugging of mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize 3D printing technologies for prototyping and manufacturing robotic components.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for mechanical designs and processes and maintenance
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics and mechanical engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in designing and developing mechanical systems, with a focus on robotics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and simulation.
  • Experience with robotic simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Experience with 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing. • Certification in robotics or related fields is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills: o Expertise in mechanical design and simulation using CAD software. o Proficiency in robotic simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP). o Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems. o Experience with sensors, actuators, and control systems. o Ability to conduct performance evaluations and feasibility studies
