This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Security Engineer, Platform in the United States. As a Senior Software Security Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining secure systems across a high-scale platform, embedding security directly into the code and architecture. This role involves collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and risk teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement mitigations, and enhance security practices across services. You will design secure architecture patterns, integrate automated security tools into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication standards are robust. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, proactive risk management, and promoting secure development practices across the organization. This position provides the opportunity to influence platform security at scale while mentoring peers and shaping secure engineering culture. Accountabilities: · Design and implement secure system architecture, libraries, and tools across Java and Go services. · Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and code reviews to identify and mitigate risks. · Integrate security automation into CI/CD workflows, including static analysis, secrets scanning, and dependency checks. · Improve authentication and authorization systems, as well as secure service-to-service communications. · Collaborate with engineering, operations, and risk teams to embed secure coding practices across projects. · Support compliance, incident response, and security audits from a technical engineering perspective. · Mentor and guide other engineers in security best practices and tooling. · 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on security initiatives. · Strong programming experience in Java, with Go experience or willingness to learn. · Hands-on experience with Keycloak and familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML. · Deep understanding of application and service security, including OWASP Top 10, secure service design, and cloud security best practices (GCP). · Experience building secure RESTful APIs and working with frameworks like Spring Security. · Proven ability to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows. · Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and risk teams. · BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. · Competitive salary range of $160,000–$170,000 USD. · Market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance. · Stock options and financial wellness subscriptions. · Monthly home-office stipend and remote-first flexibility. · 401k retirement plan (TransAmerica). · Paid parental leave (12 weeks) for all parents. · Flexible time off policy, sick and safe time, plus 11 paid company holidays. · Opportunity to work in a collaborative, innovative, and award-winning remote-first environment.
