REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 4–8 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation.
• Strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
• Good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols.
• Experience with optical testing, network switches, and traffic generators like IXIA.
• Ability to debug issues in complex networking environments.
• Experience with Jenkins or ArgoCD other CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with Shell scripting for automation and environment setup.
• Exposure to C# for UI validation or tool development is a plus.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Software engineer who specializes in automation, you will work on test automation and networking protocols. You will help validate complex systems at Layer 1 and Layer 2 using tools like Ixia and build Python based frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases in Python.
• Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer network systems.
• Validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches.
• Configure and use traffic generators (e.g., IXIA) to simulate network environments and evaluate performance.
• Collaborate with developers and hardware engineers to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects.
• Document test cases, results, and defects in test management tools.
• Maintain code and test assets in version control systems (GitHub or Bitbucket).
• Continuously improve test frameworks and methodologies.
