Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position ill be working out of our site in Chippenham.

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Are you a meticulous Software Tester with a passion for delivering robust, high-performing systems in complex environments?
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Tester to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in software testing—particularly within the Defence sector—who can bring both hands-on testing expertise and strategic thinking to new, high-impact projects.
If you thrive in fast-paced environments and have a deep understanding of testing Defence systems and setting up test strategies from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test strategies for new Defence-related software projects.
• Evaluate software applications to identify bugs, security issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Execute manual and automated test cases, ensuring compliance with Defence standards and project-specific requirements.
• Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and resolve issues efficiently.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test scripts, and test documentation aligned with MOD standards and policies.
• Ensure delivered systems meet functional, non-functional, and security requirements, with a strong emphasis on traceability and auditability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

• Strong background in software testing within the Defence or secure government sectors.
• Experience creating and executing test strategies from inception, especially for new or greenfield projects.
• Familiarity with MOD systems, policies, and secure environments.
• Solid understanding of automation frameworks, tools (e.g. Selenium, JUnit, etc.), and continuous integration pipelines.
