About the job


Our client, a software vendor in the security space, is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to design, build and run high-volume data services. This is an end-to-end ownership role: you’ll shape new features alongside users, ship them in short iterations, and keep them running reliably in production.

  • What you’ll doDesign and build services that process and store large volumes of data, choosing the right storage technology for each job
  • Maintain and improve existing services for performance, stability and data integrity
  • Troubleshoot production issues across code, infrastructure and databases
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code within a peer-review culture
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, customers and end users


  • What you’ll bring5+ years’ professional software development, with Java (8+) as your primary language
  • Solid experience across relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases
  • Proven track record building distributed, microservice-based and event-driven systems
  • Strong grasp of architecture, design patterns and trade-offs
  • Hands-on Docker, Linux and command-line proficiency
  • Observability experience with Prometheus and Grafana
  • Understanding of Mechanical Sympathy and working knowledge of low-level network programming


Nice to have: SIP/RTP protocol experience (highly desirable); Spring Boot; Kafka, RabbitMQ, NSQ or ActiveMQ; MongoDB and Elasticsearch; Spark, Iceberg or data warehouse design; S3-style object storage; Ansible and Kubernetes; Python.
