SENIOR SOLICITOR - TRIAL DIVISION

As a Senior Solicitor, you’ll be responsible for managing complex and serious matters-ranging from committal stage through to trial-including major criminal trials and taskforce-led prosecutions. You will instruct Counsel, appear where appropriate, and provide high-level advice to police, prosecutors, and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). You’ll be part of a fast-paced, agile team committed to continuous improvement and delivering fair, timely justice.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Solicitor, you will:

  • Prepare and manage large and complex criminal matters for early resolution or trial, ensuring expert legal strategy and presentation in court
  • Provide clear and timely legal advice to internal and external stakeholders, including Police, Counsel, Crown Prosecutors, and the DPP
  • Mentor junior solicitors and contribute to a collaborative, innovative team culture within a dynamic legal environment

The position is Melbourne based, however occasional regional travel may be a requirement of the position. A vehicle and overnight accommodation are provided as required.
