The role

The Senior Solution Architect is a senior design authority within Beyond Bank's architecture practice. This role is assigned to the Digital domain, where it owns the target-state architecture across mobile banking, internet banking, digital origination, public web platforms, and the identity, content, integration and personalisation capabilities that support them. Working closely with Product, Digital, Technology, and business stakeholders, this role governs end-to-end digital solutions that deliver exceptional member experiences while ensuring security, resilience, scalability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Beyond Bank’s strategic objectives. Drawing on deep expertise in digital architecture, the role provides leadership from concept through to delivery, establishing standards, guiding architectural decisions, and driving the evolution of the Bank’s digital channels and capabilities.

In this role, you will

• Own and maintain the target-state architecture for Beyond Bank’s member-facing digital channels, including mobile banking, internet banking, public websites, and digital onboarding and origination journeys.
• Act as the single design authority for the Digital domain, setting the architecture, patterns and standards that engineering teams build to, and retaining ownership of the design through delivery.
• Design scalable, secure and resilient digital solutions using modern architectural patterns including API-led, microservices, event-driven, cloud-native and backend-for-frontend approaches, including how journeys degrade gracefully when a dependency is unavailable.
• Define and govern customer identity and access management capabilities, including authentication, authorisation, MFA, biometrics, session management, and digital security controls.
• Partner with Product, Digital Experience, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into architecture roadmaps, solution designs, and delivery outcomes.
• Lead the design of digital integrations with core banking systems, third-party providers, content platforms, personalisation capabilities, and member engagement solutions.
• Ensure digital platforms meet regulatory, security, accessibility, and operational resilience requirements, including CPS 230, CPS 234, privacy obligations, and banking industry standards.
• Produce and maintain architecture artefacts, decision records, and governance documentation, while providing thought leadership, mentoring, and guidance to delivery teams throughout implementation.

Qualifications

About you

You are an experienced Solution Architect with a passion for secure, modern digital solutions and a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive successful outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect within an Australian banking, mutual, or other regulated financial services environment, with deep expertise in digital channel architecture.
• Deep architectural expertise across modern front end and mobile stacks, in particular React and React Native, setting the patterns and standards for in-house engineering teams, together with API, identity, integration and cloud solution design on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of digital banking, member authentication, payments, regulatory obligations, cyber security, and operational resilience requirements.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with architecture certifications highly regarded.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business audiences and translate complex concepts into practical outcomes.
