The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end solutions that address specific business needs within clinical, supply chain, and revenue cycle domains. This role translates business requirements into concrete technical specifications and designs, ensuring that solutions are aligned with architectural standards, scalable, secure, and maintainable. The architect will perform feasibility studies, assess the impact of proposed solutions, and oversee the implementation process to ensure successful delivery. This includes consideration for workflows, data integration, and regulatory compliance in areas such as patient care, inventory management, billing, and claims processing.
The candidate will provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and other architects to ensure a shared understanding of the solution and its impact. This includes facilitating communication and alignment between domain-specific teams. Excellent communication, proposal, and presentation skills are required to effectively communicate solution designs and implementation plans to senior management, development staff, and other stakeholders.
This position is within an innovation team and requires the ability to work on diverse projects across the enterprise. The candidate must be comfortable navigating different technical ecosystems, adapting to existing systems, collaborating with various teams, and engaging with business stakeholders across clinical, supply chain, and revenue cycle areas. A strong understanding of integration patterns, cloud technologies, and modern development practices is essential.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience a Software development or engineering roles required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, BEHAVIORS:

  • Growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks. Required
  • Full-stack experience working with various languages, platforms, and other tools, systems including, but not limited to some combination of: SQL or noSQL databases (e.g. SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, CosmosDB, MongoDB), ETL and data-pipeline type tools (e.g. SSIS, GCP DataFlow, Azure DataFactory), message queue type systems (e.g. Azure EventHub, GCP PubSub, Kafka, RabbitMQ), microservice environments (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes, C#, Java), APIs (e.g. REST, OpenAPI), front-end frameworks (e.g. ReactJs, VueJS, Angular), and ML model operationalization techniques and generative AI usage. Required
  • Experience interfacing with or working within CRM, ERP, eCommerce, or EMR/EHR solutions and common integration patterns. Preferred
  • Experience with DevOps tooling (e.g. GitHub, Azure DevOps) Required
  • Experience with diagramming tools (e.g. Visio) Required
  • Strong Experience in cloud native, deploying within cloud environments, serverless development and/or container-based solutions. Required
  • Strong understanding of best practices in the design of REST-based APIs. Required
  • Strong Understanding of agile methodology and software development lifecycles. Required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing. Required
  • Ability to lead community events with a focus on software development or delivery. Required

  • Troubleshooting skills including experience working with utilities for log analysis and load testing. Required

Responsibilities
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, working closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery aligned with business objectives and architectural standards. Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and end users) to deeply understand functional and non-functional requirements, translating them into detailed solution designs that meet those needs.
  • Lead investigations into complex development and design problems, proposing innovative and effective solutions that leverage appropriate technologies and architectural patterns. Evaluate and recommend different solution options based on feasibility, cost, and business impact.
  • Guide development teams in scoping and estimating the effort required to implement specific solutions, ensuring that estimates are accurate and realistic based on the complexity and scope of the design.
  • Be a community leader in promoting and enforcing architectural, design, implementation, and security standards and best practices across solution development projects. Act as a subject matter expert on specific technologies or architectural patterns.
  • Design and execute proof-of-concept (POC) or proof-of-technology (POT) tasks to validate proposed solution designs and ensure that they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements. Present POC findings to stakeholders to gain buy-in and confidence in the proposed solution.
  • Prepare and present solution designs, feasibility studies, and impact analyses to diverse audiences, ranging from senior management to developers and testers. Tailor communication to the specific needs and technical understanding of each audience.
  • Produce comprehensive architectural and design documentation to guide development teams in building and implementing solutions. This includes:
  • Formulate unit and integration tests, and conduct functional and performance testing as appropriate, to ensure the quality and reliability of the implemented solution.
  • Adhere to established development practices and processes, and actively contribute to their improvement based on experience gained during solution development projects. Advocate for the adoption of best practices and tools.
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
  • Training and mentoring of peers and other staff
