WHAT’S THE ROLE?

Join Westpac, one of Australia’s largest banks, as a Senior Solution Designer and play a key role in shaping innovative, end-to-end technical solutions across multiple projects within our Retail Banking domain. You’ll provide expert guidance across business and IT, ensuring designs align with architectural roadmaps and deliver real impact. Working within a Digital Delivery Train, you’ll help transform staff sales and servicing technologies using modern Java-based stacks including React, Node.js, Spring Boot and Kafka—all within an agile, collaborative environment.

MAIN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

• Translate business requirements into solution designs that align with enterprise architecture and domain roadmaps.
• Support the Solution Architect in assessing current-state impacts and defining future-state architectures.
• Lead the integration and alignment of end-to-end designs across multiple teams and systems.
• Ensure traceability from high-level architecture to detailed design and oversee resolution of cross-application design and testing issues.
• Provide governance and assurance on internal and third-party solutions to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Support IT estimation processes and present solution options with cost, benefit, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure effective engagement and delivery.
• Guide development teams in resolving design issues and promote agile practices for continuous improvement.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and contribute to strategic technology planning and innovation
