THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Solution Engineer with a strong understanding of Lab Automation processes to join our Gene Therapy research organization in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automation of laboratory workflows and a comprehensive understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) systems. This role requires an individual who can effectively bridge the gap between scientific requirements and technical implementation, translating scientific needs into robust technical designs and overseeing the full project lifecycle from implementation to rollout.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Design & Implementation: Translate complex scientific needs into robust technical designs for lab automation solutions.
  • Project Management: Supervise the implementation and rollout phases of laboratory informatics projects, ensuring successful integration and user adoption.
  • System Integration: Integrate laboratory automation systems with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) systems.
  • Workflow Optimisation: Identify opportunities to optimize laboratory workflows through automation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with scientific teams, IT, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for lab automation systems.
  • Global Alignment: Act as a key liaison between local scientific teams and global information/technical specialists, facilitating clear communication and ensuring alignment between local and global technical solutions.
  • Continuous Development: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in laboratory automation, informatics, while understanding the basics of gene therapy research.
