OVERVIEW

The Solution Manager will be leading the scoping, development, and implementation of software solutions for Sage and its customers.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES and EXPECTATIONS:

  • Lead a team of internal developers and consultants across. multiple technologies to architect, and deliver software solutions.
  • Hands on contribution based on strong technical background.
  • Analyze the needs of users.
  • Design and lead to implementation solutions using the software development cycle.
  • Take the lead on software development projects.
  • Lead and supervising other team members.
  • Enforce testing, quality, and security development protocols.
  • Ensure the documentation of software programs with flowcharts, layouts, charts, diagrams and other documentation.
  • Learn about developments in the field to stay on top of the latest advancements and technologies.
  • Manage the budget and timelines for projects.
  • Analyze business problems and Conceptualize solutions based on problem statements and identify root causes to address with best fit solutions.
  • Guide and train more junior members of the team to ensure that they deliver their tasks well.
  • Develop high-quality software, identify and execute tasks in the software development life cycle, review code, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure software frameworks and tools are up-to-date.
  • Develop a monitoring framework that ensure software systems are working as intended post production.
  • Troubleshoot inefficiencies and errors.
  • Open communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Follow the credo.
  • Flexible in time schedule following department and Sage practices including on premise presence.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Promotes ease of doing business while complying with policies and procedures.
  • Represent BT in discussions with the business before projects or initiatives are committed.
  • Identify the root cause of issues and realize when dealing with symptoms, trust but verify claims.
  • Research options to achieve goal and offer to business better fit solutions, if applicable.
  • Ensure that requirements are detailed enough to eliminate vagueness and can be used for testing.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Own certain initiatives where applicable and see them to completion by coordinating communication and efforts. Complete plans and follow-up on open topics timely.
  • Use data to provide insight on issues or root cause or validate theories and assumptions.
  • Prepare material for meetings and communication including Power Point presentations and Excel.
  • Escalate to the appropriate level in a timely manner while putting forward relevant and clear facts.
  • Perform all duties with quality and a caring attitude towards internal and external customers.
  • Continuously keep stakeholders updated on open initiatives status at the appropriate frequency level.
  • Author and update internal and external documentation and take necessary steps to secure relevant signoffs needed to keep initiatives on track and satisfy stakeholders expectations.
  • Follow policies, processes, and procedures at the department and company levels to ensure compliance and meet quality standards.
  • Effectively troubleshoot problems where applicable.
  • Analyze demand and solutions. Challenge claims and requests to ensure that solutions match problems, root causes are addressed versus symptoms, and adherence to priorities and strategies.
  • Make timely and informed decisions when faced with ambiguous situations by analyzing facts, data, best practices, lessons learned, best judgement, and known directions.
  • Work with vendors where applicable to coordinate communication, requirements, status, and timely escalate to effectively and efficiently deliver solutions to internal and external customers.
  • Use DevOps to document owned deliverables in sprints and deliver these commitments while tracking time against those deliverables as feasible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or related subject, or equivalent additional work experience required.
  • Minimum 8 years technical experience required in modern technologies like Azure, .Net. Angular, SQL, etc.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively interact with senior level managers to reach forward progress decisions.
  • Proven analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity effectively.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications.
