SENIOR SOMMELIER, DINNER BY HESTON BLUMENTHAL

3 doubles, 2 single shifts per week: 48hours

As a Senior Sommelier at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, you will be responsible for:

  • To display superior wine knowledge and be able to recommend and match appropriate wines with the chosen food.
  • Organisation and maintenance of the wine list and the cellar
  • Training and supporting Sommelier team
  • Ensuring all beverages are correctly posted through Infrasys
  • To respond proactively to guest queries, ensuring that appropriate action is taken in the absence of the Manager, followed by effective communication.

As a Senior Sommelier, you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday, 39 hours a week. Shift patterns will vary from morning, evening, and late night shifts (including weekends and bank holidays), so flexibility is required where applicable.
To be a successful Senior Sommelier candidate, you will have wine and food knowledge, with a strong understanding of fine dining restaurant service steps and must have previous experience as a Sommelier.
