Job Description About the role: You will be the restaurant’s expert on wine while ensuring five-star service to our patrons. We are seeking a thorough professional who is adept at new wine trends and makes recommendations with confidence and passion. As a Senior Sommelier, you will delight our guests by helping them choose the best wine to complete meal experiences. Develop and mentor Sommeliers and front-of-house colleagues. Drive beverage revenue through strategic recommendations and upselling. You will be responsible for creating and updating the wine list in coordination with the F&B Manager, as well as ensuring all beverages are stored securely. You will share your knowledge through informative training of the outlet team members and management. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: You are passionate about wine and have relevant experience in a similar property Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Sommelier within a Michelin-starred or luxury fine dinning environment. Formal wine certification (e.g., WSET Level 3+, Court of Master Sommeliers, or equivalent) is preferred. Previous experience supervising or mentoring Sommeliers or front-of-house teams. Valid Food Handler Licence in accordance with Maltese regulations (maintained at all times). Strong commercial awareness and ability to maximise beverage revenue. Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are considered an asset. You have a natural flair for service and delivering a strong service culture, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
