As Senior Sourcing Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the strategic management plan for food categories within Marley Spoon. Working closely with various stakeholders across the business, you will be leading sourcing initiatives from our Sydney office located in Alexandria (NSW 2015).

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

In this role, you’ll be the subject matter expert in dry goods sourcing, balancing commercial impact with quality and sustainability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Category Leadership: Develop and execute 1–3 year category plans aligned with our sourcing strategy.
  • Market Expertise: Analyse industry trends, risks, and opportunities to drive category strategies.
  • Supplier Management: Build strong supplier partnerships, lead negotiations, and oversee supplier performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Culinary, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance) to deliver business outcomes.
  • Cost Optimisation: Drive cost reductions, manage category spend, and implement long-term savings strategies.
  • Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure regulatory and sustainability requirements are met, while enhancing packaging, quality, and customer experience.
  • Innovation & Growth: Scout, onboard, and commercialise new suppliers and products to support growth objectives.

This is you:

  • Tertiary qualified in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and/or Business Administration
  • 5–7 years’ experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally within Manufacturing, Retail, or FMCG
  • Proven expertise in food ingredient procurement (Dry Goods, Grocery, Food Service)
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to “read” the market
  • Sound understanding of Commercial and Contract Law
  • Familiarity with supplier management tools (e.g. ERP, Foods Connected)
  • Professional accreditation (e.g. CIPS) is a plus
