Main tasks
As a Senior Sourcing Specialist you work closely with both Telenor corporate functions and all of the business units. You will be pivotal in identifying and realizing cost saving initiatives that deliver real business value in the procurement of Cards & Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) across all of Telenor through the following:

Category Management

  • Development and implementation of end-to-end category management plan to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), consolidate suppliers and develop global best practices
  • Provide input to the overall procurement strategy and influence senior level stakeholders to support, endorse and deliver category procurement strategies that are an enabler to realizing business savings and supporting innovation
  • Analyze spend data to understand the supplier landscape and identify sourcing opportunities, spend leverage; and, also to create improved visibility of global suppliers and our business requirements
  • Analyze supply market dynamics and supplier capabilities; and, in close collaboration with internal business functions identify/ challenge demand and specifications/ requirements
  • Maintain and provide category strategy, and project/initiative progress and performance tracking and reporting (including versus targets and objectives)

Strategic Sourcing

  • Initiate sourcing activities aligned to category and sourcing plans
  • Lead global and regional sourcing projects, taking a hands-on approach for mid to large size sourcing projects / initiatives using tried and tested methodologies
  • Ensure effective handover of contracts to business functions for implementation and contract management
  • Work in tandem with our Legal partners on contract management

Supplier Management

  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers to create a high performing culture that motivates and rewards suppliers to develop market leading innovations
  • Ensure and support the business to achieve compliance with procurement policies and managing the risk profile of suppliers
  • Lead supplier relationship management and performance communications

Profile

To succeed in this role is it believed that an understanding of the telecom industry combined with a deep understanding of the CPE market is preferred. It would be beneficial with knowledge of SIM cards and scratch cards as a category. As most of your internal and external stakeholders will span across different organizational and cultural boundaries you need to be convincing and credible in all interactions. To enjoy this role and succeed in it you need to:

  • Preferred business knowledge in telecommunications landscape
  • Due to the multi-time zone business support, long working hour expected during peak of project
  • Willing to support cross category project during peak season.

Qualification Requirements

  • More than 5 years in a global procurement /project management/ contract management / vendor / negotiations / supply chain management role or as functional expert in the SIM Cards CPE category preferred
  • Application of procurement best practices and supplier negotiation at executive level
  • A university degree, preferably within business administration, finance, supply chain or similar
  • Broad experience with common data processing tools, e.g. Excel, Power BI, PPT, Thinkcell
  • A good understanding/experience in spend analytics tool (e.g: Sievo) and/or P2P system (e.g.: Coupa)
