Description
The architect will define modular, partitioned architectures that support mixed-criticality applications within Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) environments. Collaboration with systems engineering, hardware design, and embedded software teams is essential to optimize architectures for electrical power conversion, hydraulic control, and advanced flight systems. In addition to compliance, the role will drive innovation in electrification and digital transformation, leveraging modern software development practices, cloud-based simulation, and digital twin technologies to accelerate design and validation. Create and refine product propositions for the aerospace division by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs, define value propositions, and develop innovative solutions that align with business objectives and market trends. Define and maintain end-to-end software architecture for aerospace systems, including electrical power management, actuation, and avionics platforms. Develop architecture artifacts such as interface specifications, design patterns, and integration strategies to guide development teams. Ensure architecture supports scalability, maintainability, and certifiability under aerospace standards (DO-178C, ARP4754A, ARINC 653). Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to define and validate hardware-software interfaces for power conversion units, PDUs, and actuation systems. Incorporate electrical, thermal, and timing constraints into software design to ensure seamless integration. Drive strategies for embedded controllers, sensors, and communication protocols (CAN, AFDX, ARINC). Implement processes aligned with DO-178C objectives, ensuring traceability from requirements through verification. B.E/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Sciene 18 + years Embedded Systems Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of embedded controllers, sensors, and related hardware/software integration. Communication Protocols: Proficiency with industry-standard protocols, including CAN, AFDX, and ARINC. Regulatory Compliance: Expert level knowledge of DO-178C, including processes for requirements traceability, verification, and certification documentation. Model-Based Development: Experience guiding teams in adopting model-based design approaches for efficient system development. Real-Time Operating Systems & Partitioned Architectures: Strong background in implementing and optimizing RTOS and partitioned system designs. Advanced Validation Techniques: Knowledge of digital twins, cloud-based simulation, and predictive analytics for system validation and testing. Software Component Reuse & Inner-Sourcing: Skills in promoting reusable code and inner-sourcing methodologies to accelerate development cycles. Technical Communication: Ability to clearly articulate architecture decisions and trade-offs to a range of stakeholders. Industry Representation: Experience representing the organization in technical forums and contributing to industry standards development. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proficiency in working with diverse teams to identify customer needs, define value propositions, and develop market-aligned, innovative solutions." "* Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, Probes all fruitful sources for answers to problems that may not be immediately visible and goes beyond obvious solutions to solve problems at the correct level in a comprehensive manner. Technical Leadership - Leads technical communities for software for the aerospace and associated embedded systems domains. Drives innovation. Delivers new ideas and brings together insights from diverse teams. Stakeholder Management - is able to effectively collaborate and drive decisions in a global environment working with leadership across the global organization. Creativity - Comes up with a lot of new and unique ideas, easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions, tends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming settings Process Management - Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done, is aware of how to organize people and activities, Knows what to measure and how to measure it, can simplify complex processes, Gets more out of fewer resources
