Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Danish Technological Institute (DTI) is an attractive partner for industry, offering cutting-edge commercial services to companies at the forefront of innovation, particularly in materials science. DTI plays a unique role in developing and applying advanced characterisation tools utilising neutron and synchrotron x-ray techniques across industrial sectors such as energy, pharma and security/defence.
We are seeking a new colleague to strengthen our services within advanced materials characterisation, particularly leveraging neutron and synchrotron measurement techniques. You will join a team of 10 highly specialised professionals dedicated to making state-of-the-art characterisation techniques accessible to industry.
You will become engaged in both R&D projects and work directly with customers to clarify their needs, identify and develop tailored characterisation solutions, and play a direct role in measurement campaigns, data analysis, and interpretation of results from large-scale analytical facilities. Initially, you will focus on measuring residual stresses in metallic materials for industrial customers and participating in the European project ZEROSTEEL, which aims to develop and refine processes which will drastically reduce CO₂-emission from steel production from the current level of 8% of the total global emissions. Your role will be to provide insight into the industrial processes through advanced neutron and x-ray characterization.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE MAKING ADVANCED NEUTRON AND SYNCHROTRON ANALYSIS ACCESSIBLE AND VALUABLE FOR INDUSTRIAL CLIENTS BY:

  • Defining and participating in neutron and synchrotron x-ray measurements in collaboration with colleagues and experts from academia and large-scale research facilities.
  • Managing our role in innovation projects (such as ZEROSTEEL).
  • Planning and executing client projects in close cooperation with industry partners.
  • Presenting and reporting results to companies through presentations and written reports.
  • Contributing to new R&D applications for public funding sources.
  • Developing and communicating case studies that demonstrate the value created by applying advanced characterisation techniques.
