Create impact as a Senior Specialist Lawyer, Insurance - Projects, Reinsurance & Distribution Your Role Join IAG Legal and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality legal services across large-scale regulatory projects. You'll build strong relationships with business partners, provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice, manage external counsel, and lead legal aspects of major initiatives. Your work will help shape governance, monitor legislative changes, and drive continuous improvement across our legal systems. This is a twelve month fixed term opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne). About You Legal practice experience – min 5 years Ability to triage multiple priorities, influence others and work both autonomously and as a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Significant in-house legal practice experience required in the following functional areas; insurance, reinsurance, financial services regualtion and distribution law including advanced working knowledge of general insurance products, claims and coverage issues, licensing requirements, reinsurance treaties, transactions and arrangements, a detailed understanding of relevant corporate governance requirements, dealing with regulators such as ASIC and APRA. Advanced understanding of general insurance and/or the broader financial services law and the financial services industry desirable Highly developed legal skills (eg written communications, advisory, contract drafting and negotiation, relationship building) Excellent stakeholder and project management skills with the ability to proactively provide strategic and customer centric solutions Applications close Wednesday 12 November 23:59pm AEST.
