Description
What Payroll contributes to Cardinal Health Human Resources designs, implements and delivers human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, talent management, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, among others. This function anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs in alignment with business strategies. Payroll processes the organization's payroll according to company policy and applicable regulations, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and timely with correct withholding and deductions. This job family maintains payroll records and calculates overtime, shift payments, sales commissions and bonuses, taxes and deductions. Payroll prepares reports for management and to meet regulatory and collective bargaining obligations and addresses questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters. Responsibilities Subject matter expert for specialized areas of Payroll and Payroll related tax Utilizes multiple systems to complete transactions (ADP, Workday, ADP, etc.) Interacts with third-party providers and other Centers of Excellence Provides tax balancing for quarter end and year end close for multiple FEIN's Performs transaction assessments consistent with controls framework and SOX Compliance Accountable for service level and business performance goals Maintains LWI's, SOP's for payroll and tax processes Resolves escalated HR inquiries requiring higher level knowledge and authority Conducts data integrity audits as transactions are entered and completed Participates in and contributes to scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen Performs special projects and any other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred 2-4 years of experience, preferred Previous payroll and tax experience, required Knowledge of ADP Smart Compliance, preferred Fundamental Payroll Certification, preferred What is expected of you and others at this level Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve Applies judgment within defined parameters Receives general guidance and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
