Why join us?
Brainkind is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. We treat people with a range of brain injuries – sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals. Our employees are incredibly passionate about the jobs they do – you will find a strong team spirit across our services and amazing colleagues who always pull together and look out for each other.
ABOUT US:
Brainkind offers you the opportunity to work alongside other disciplines such as psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, music therapists and orthotists. We have highly skilled rehabilitation support workers and therapy assistants who will work with you and the people we support to cement the rehabilitation plans that you prescribe.
You will be supported by the clinical and operational team, the Therapy Lead and Care Lead within The Chantry and by the wider Brainkind physiotherapy team and the Physiotherapy Clinical Lead. Our Physiotherapy team in Brainkind is a dynamic and exciting team that works across 13 different inpatient settings around the UK. We firmly believe that developing our staff is the key to success and we encourage professional development to enable staff to reach their full potential.
The Chantry is a specialist neurological centre in Ipswich and became part of Brainkind in October 2023. The Chantry provides rehabilitation for people recently diagnosed with stroke or head injuries and also offers support for people diagnosed with long term neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinsons, and multiple sclerosis. As the Senior Specialist Physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to treat and manage a variety of presentations in the rehabilitation unit as well as in the complex care unit.
MAIN PURPOSE:
To provide a physiotherapy service at senior level by assessing, implementing (by self or junior staff) and evaluating programmes of person-centred care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. To ensure continuity and consistency regarding service users’ physical management. To demonstrate a senior level of clinical, technical and research skills through breadth and depth of knowledge.
