We wish to continue to build our reputation as well as advancing standards of clinical care that are at the cutting edge of our specialty. We are looking for applicants who will contribute towards this and who will help us to drive the development of modern emergency care in our local health.
Be involved in the initial reception and management of patients attending the ED.
As a capable and experienced ST4+ clinician, you will be expected to independently manage the department overnight, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care
Be involved in the full spectrum of Emergency Department patients including resuscitation and assessment of seriously injured and ill patients, dealing with complex cases, paediatrics and minor injuries.
Assist the consultants and senior nurses in the running of the shop floor, ensuring that patients are seen by appropriate staff in a timely fashion and that junior staff are appropriately supervised along with nursing staff and medical students.
Assist in maintaining flow of patients through the department and support national Quality Indicators.
Undertake some administrative responsibilities, for example, reviewing x-ray and pathology results.
Have the facility under the auspices of the Emergency Consultant to develop special interest for clinical research and to undertake audit projects or support audit projects of the junior medical staff.
Share the responsibility of conducting an observation ward round in the Emergency Department
Actively attend, participate and contribute towards teaching sessions for his/her own team as well as colleagues of varying levels
Maintain and develop own skills and learning
